Jack The Lad

A 100 Word Tale from the Wilson’s Tale Project

Jack The Lad

Nobody was surprised Jack had smashed his car.  He had a reputation as a tearaway who led life on the edge and sometimes beyond it.

He was also well known to the police and they did not believe a word of his tale of kidnap at knifepoint from the pub carpark.

To local surprise he went to court to challenge the charge of reckless driving.  The final surprise was for the police when the judge had to agree with his barrister that in failing to look for evidence of the kidnappers, they could not disprove the claim.
